was how I spent my 28th birthday at 3am in the morning

Alhamdulillah,
praise to Allah SWT
for giving me another day to breathe
and another year to live with my beautiful family,

Bukan sebab aku dah berenti makan untuk kuruskan badan

Neesa la yang suruh try German Deli ni sedap katanya
so 2 bulan lepas aku try la dengan Surfacing makan lunch
2 set burger 100gm lagi murah dari McDonald kat sebelah pintu je

Sejak tu, terus addicted.
aku rasa dalam bulan ni dah 2 kali pegi makan sana
Setiap kali makan mesti try menda lain
so ni gambar- gambar food dia yang aku berjaya capture walaupun kelaparan

Ni memang specialty kat sini la untuk sapa yang berhati waja
macam Surfacing je mampu makan menda ni...

Mula-mula plate sampai aku macam "ehh sikit je"
sekali hamik kau memang kenyangla makan...

yang konon oh-so-healthy
tak dapat jack...
ini macam fastfood ye

Tak lengkap meal kalau x order mashed potato dia...
of coursela kalau nak banding sama chillis memang beza la...
tapi for RM2 sahaja memang amat best makan panas-panas
yang penting tak rasa macam mashed potato maggi tu





Air pulak kitorang suka kongsi 1liter rootbeer ni letak ice-cream scoop
ye betul...
1 liter air bikarbonat untuk menambahkan obesiti
tapi sebab cuma rm5 je seliter ni maka berbaloi
but ada gak air lain macam cappucino ke or tea...

Dessert dia menarik jugak ada blueberry+ ice cream+whipped cream
(heaven gile)
and granny's apple pie.

tapi yang macam pelik kat sini juga ada menu sup daging.
Ye, agaknya orang german memang makan sup daging blackpepper jugak.
ngeee.

so kalau nak try ada satu German Deli outlet dekat
Petronas Ampang Jaya yang ada supermarket Max Value
and nasi kandar original kayu.
Kat Ara Damansara pun ada tapi tatau belah mana.

One Step Beyond

I'm not the kind of people who splurge every month for clothes or shoes
Except for band t-shirt if it's rare and interesting
Not even more than 50ringgit usually

My average spending monthly will mostly evolves around things that i need
like basic toiletries ...will not cost more than 50 ringgit also
But i do spend a lot on food, fuel and movie tickets
For me it's enough to reward myself after working my butt off

I will think twice whenever a shirt cost me 49.90 or pants more than 50ringgit
Basically, i will only buy if it's below 50...
average 20-40ringgit per item is the maximum i'm willing to spend
Last year, I only bought 3 jeans
and each cost me not more than 80 ringgit

Well..where do we go from this?
Basically what i wanna say is...
I'm not a big spender

So when the winning money was deposit to my account
I decided to spend some to belanja my family makan
and the rest is for my wedding saving.

Surfacing said
"go get something...
Just to remind you that this is from the contest money"

Of course I refused to do that...
because it's not what I NEED at the moment


Until I saw this bloody shoe...



It's discounted...
Super comfy 3 and half inch high heels leather boots
Mary Jane strap with buckle and print lining
Environmental friendly and so they say
My first timberland boots lasted until now (it's 7 years now)
I don't wear high heels
But this is different..ngeee

I could not take my eyes off of it.

Deftones "Diamond Eyes Tour" live in Malaysia.
KL Live Centre

I've been waiting for 12 years since 1999
I bought their first album "Adrenaline" at Kedai Auntie, Campbell Complex
Kaset fotostat ok.

Since then i'm a big fan of Deftones.
My personal favorites from the first album are
"Root", "Birthmark", "Bored" and "7 words".








I bought the tix the second day they sold it
(Thank you My Surfacing susah payah pergi rock corner)
It's the free standing tix - cost RM98 per person.

Really want to buy the rock zone area
but since Surfacing just spend his money for Iron Maiden tix
(which he successfully manipulated me to sell my Iron Maiden tix but that's another story)

So we just settle down with that.




I took 1 day leave and prepared for the big day...ngee
Arrived at the venue and it's already crowded with the fans
Finally made it to the concert hall around 8.15pm something

I'm freaking happy when i saw the RM98 tix not that far from the stage
The only thing that divided us from the Rock Zone area was the barricade
Totally worth it!






A day before the event I checked out Deftones concert setlist at Jakarta
Really really excited when they played all the important songs
and of course more tracks from their new album "Diamond Eyes"
I just can't wait when i read "Birthmark" is the first song!
The most perfect song to start the night
period





Opening band was Love Me Butch.
They DESERVED it.
Love me butch first album somewhat a reflection of Deftones music.








Around 9.30, Deftones started the show.
and it.was.
EXPLOSIVE.
Can't believe these guys been around for 15 years
and the energy... the live performance is just damn crazy.
Gotta give credit to the venue too cause the sound was really good.







Chino was so aggressive.
One song to another with subtle, minimal break in between
It's so surreal...

and yes, they played all the favorite tracks.
I try to keep my cool but goodness...
I just can't!

I recorded some of the performance but the captured sounds really bad

Once upon a time at the TSC Screening


I read this lovely section from Leo Burnett Website.
It's Arwah Yasmin Ahmad last words to the staff.
It is very inspiring and I would like to share it with you.


"Energy can never be destroyed. It just takes on different forms"

Midway through a wonderful presentation to clients on the 23rd of July 2009,
Yasmin said, "I don't feel well", then laid her head on the table,
and lost consciousness until she passed away peacefully on the 25th.

At 8pm on the Tuesday night before she died,
Yasmin called whoever was still working in the office to come to the Leo Burnett amphitheatre.

In the quiet of that night, she told us things beautifully prophetic.
She asked those present what they want to learn from her.
Naturally most people said they wanted to learn how to make good TV commercials and movies.
Her answer to that?
"I can't show you how to do it. But I can point you in the right direction".

Then she played us her Petronas Merdeka TV commercial 'Tan Hong Ming'
(which won numerous awards including Cannes Gold) and said,
"I didn't do this commercial."

"God did it."

"Doesn't matter whether you call it the Tao, Allah, or God, God is One.
Be open to this Higher Power, and each one of us can be a channel."

She explained how she had initially thought that she was done
with shooting Tan Hong Ming who said his best friend is a boy who wears a songkok
(a headgear often worn by Malaysian Muslims).
But Tan Hong Ming kept pestering her, pulling at her baju kurung
and saying strange things like "I'm a vegetarian".
So she kindly humoured the 7-year-old, putting the camera on him and asking,
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
And that's when the magic just flowed.

Nothing was scripted. It was all real. It was just an innocent little child, speaking from the heart.
And when Ummi Qasrina came by, her heart echoed these same pure thoughts.
All the team had to do was keep the camera rolling.
"Only God can do things like that." said Yasmin.

Then Yasmin took us through another Petronas TV commercial which was not written by her,
but by Ng Choo Seong. She reminded us that Nisha Khiruddin wrote one of the most loved
and most insightful Petronas Chinese New Year commercials.
That one of our most junior staff, a visualiser, Ken Wong Woon Kian,
affectionately known as "Ayam" to her, did three TV commercials in just three years of his career
with Leo Burnett. That Christie Herman, a Christian, did what's probably the most watched Petronas TV commercial for the Hindu festival of lights, "The Boys in the Hood".
That we can go through the entire list of Petronas TV commercials,
and realize that many were not written by her, but by each of us in the office.
And that we can continue doing so.

"To tap in to this kind of inspiration," said Yasmin that Tuesday night,
"we just need to open our hearts and humble ourselves to the One",
she repeated "doesn't matter whether you call it The Tao, Allah or God".

Then, Yasmin literally demonstrated how she humbles herself five times a day
- on the very floor of the Leo Burnett amphitheatre - standing, bowing, kneeling, prostrating.
"At every point, I become smaller, smaller and smaller" she said,
"reminding myself that I am nothing."
"And God, everything.
" On that very night, she also reminded us that
"Energy cannot be destroyed. It just takes on different forms."
She said we "should not have a guru. Because, even if one is a very good imitator,
at best one will be limited to being a poor imitation of the guru.
" She directed us to God, "upon Whom there are no limits."

Yasmin didn't leave Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur in the lurch when she died.
She handed us over to God.
Upon Whom she has always counted on for inspiration.
Unto Whom she has now returned.

Hiking at mount Kinabalu October, 25th 2010
Even though I didn't make it to the Summit
or Laban Rata
Not Even Layang-Layang which is what we originally plan to go
But I'm really proud of myself even just made it 2km from Timpohon Gate
My first time hiking.
I didn't use the hiking stick.
That's an achievement, at least for me.
and the song 'Tinggi-tinggi Gunung Kinabalu"
stayed in my head for a week.

I'm so excited for Surfacing.

When they first announced at FB, I was literally shocked.

I am really not into karaoke and this is my 2nd time

But I am fond towards the buffet dinner.
After my 3rd plate, I started my first song - begitu indah by padi

The company christmas lunch
Just like last year we had secret santa where we have to exchange gifts
and makan-makan.
But this year we had it at the office and my lady boss
brought turkey!
Goodness, This is my first time eating this animal.
Everyone has to bring one dish.
I brought mac n cheese.
There's mashed potato, coleslaw, bihun goreng, nugget, keropok,
fries and cupcakes.
Great food, indeed.
And this year i got a wallet!





There's too many good things happened this year
Except for one.

Achievement?
Not really achievement but I had a good year
New car to replace my problematic Savvy...
Finally has a decent hp that can last for another 5 years
(my poor Sony L6 out of service after 4 years)

I love Sushi now
and I can eat raw tomato every morning just like apple
I can eat salad and the green stuff (this is an achievement!)
Managed to throw some bad habits and behaviour
Avoid unnecessary situation



Whatever it is,
my arms are open wide for 2011
Loads of exciting events coming up
Deftones concert at KL on February, 14th
This, I can't wait!




My big day with Surfacing at the end of 2011, Insya'Allah.
A decade is worth waiting for.
